THANKSGIVING 101:

This is a super delicious poundcake to add to your holiday table. There are several steps that can be made a couple days before you bake the poundcake.
I love the flavors of this cake and it’s showy appearance!

For the streusel:
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 stick melted butter


Mix till course crumbs. Bake at 350* about 10-15 minutes.
Apple filling:
- 5 apples peeled and cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 Tablespoon butter
Place all filling ingredients in a medium skillet. Cook on medium till the apples are soft. Remove from heat and cool.


For the poundcake:
- 3 sticks butter, room temperature
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Place butter and sugar in your mixer bowl, blend thill smooth and light
Now add eggs 1 at a time till well blended
Now add sour cream, blend well
Now add flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla
Blend well



Reserve 1/2 cup of the apples mixture, for the top when finishing the cake
Now fold the apples into the batter.

Grease and flour your tube pan, spray really well and then distribute the flour around the pan.
Pour the batter into the pan, now place in a
325* oven, bake 45-55 minutes till a skewer comes out clean.






Now set the cake aside to cool
make a glaze for the cake
- 2/3 cups sour cream
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 -2 Tablespoons water
When cool, remove the cake from the pan, place the cake right side up on a plate.
Drizzle the glaze over the cake
Now put the reserved apples on the cake
Now put the crumbs on the cake
Now you have a showy cake for your holiday table!
