12 Days of Christmas Cookies: Snowballs!

These are my snowball cookies. I started making these when I was 12 years old! My mom loved to bake and she included me in every step of the process from planning to making sure we had everything we needed to bake. She was a huge influence on me becoming a chef.

  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 12 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 cups finely chopped nuts(I prefer walnuts)

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees

Now place butter and powdered sugar into your mixer bowl. cream till fully combined

Now add evaporated milk, and vanilla, mix well

Now add the flour, mix well

Now blend in 2 cups nuts and mix well

Now prepare your pans by lining with parchment paper or a Silpat

Now begin scooping with a 4 teaspoon scoop

Now roll the scooped cookies into a ball and place on your cookie sheets

Now place then in the oven and bake for 375 degrees for about 10 minutes

When you take them out of the oven, let them cool on a cooling rack for about 10 minutes

Now prepare a large bowl with powdered sugar

Place the cookies into the powdered sugar and roll them around till they are coated well

Now let them cool completely

Your cookies are now ready to put on your cookies trays and enjoy!
