12 Days of Christmas Cookies: Snickerdoodles

These are my delicious Snickerdoodle cookies! I have been making them since I was about 12. They are a long-standing favorite of our family. They have cinnamon sugar on the outside and buttery goodness on the inside. I hope you make them!

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flower
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees

Prepare your sheet pans with parchment or silicone Silpat’s

Using a large bowl place about 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 Tablespoon cinnamon, mix well

Place your softened butter, Crisco and sugar into your mixer bowl, cream well.

Now add flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Blend well till your dough forms

Now scoop your cookies using a 4-teaspoon scoop. Roll each cookie into a ball and drop in a bowl of your prepared cinnamon sugar

Now place them as you go onto your prepared cookie sheet

Now place in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes

Now let the cookies cool for about 10 minutes then remove from your pan and place on a cooling rack, cool completely

Now your cookies are ready to place on your cookie trays and serve! Enjoy!
